Surfing Lessons on Bang Tao Beach
Just 3km north of Surin (10-min drive), Bang Tao offers beginner-friendly waves. Talay Surf Phuket provides 1.5-hour private/group lessons (1,500-3,000 THB) with boards, English/Thai instructors, and beachside location.
Consider booking a full-day tour to explore Phang Nga Bay's limestone karsts via speedboat, longtail, or luxury catamaran. Hotels will have some trusted tour companies they can put you in touch with for this.
Boat Trips
Phi Phi Island Day Trip
The islands feature some of the most spectacular, postcard-perfect limestone cliffs and turquoise waters in the world. You can easily snorkel right off the beaches or take a boat to spot black-tip reef sharks, sea turtles, and vibrant coral reefs.

Ethical Elephant Sanctuaries
Meet and connect with friendly elephants: Get close to our gentle giants to learn, play, and feed them
Surin Beach
Surin Beach is a 1-km stretch of fine white sand, known for calm turquoise waters and backed by palms for shade. It's more relaxed than other famous beaches, but only has sparse facilities - so it’s best for people staying close by.
Muay Fight Fighting
For a taste of Thai culture, consider catching a live Muay Thai fight in Phuket. The two main venues are Patong Boxing Stadium and Bangla Boxing Stadium, both in the heart of Patong, staging fights most nights of the week (typically starting around 9pm). Expect ceremonial pre-fight rituals, live traditional music, and an electric crowd. Tickets are usually available at the door or online, and prices vary by seating.
Thai Massage
Relax and rejuvenate with an authentic Thai massage at one of the many studios around the area.

Party in Patong
Patong Beach, 20km south of Surin (30-45 min Grab/taxi, ~600 THB), is Phuket's nightlife hub along Bangla Road—dives, go-go bars, live music, and massive clubs. Expect crowds, rowdiness, and bad decisions!
